HOW DID I GET HERE?

You know you are in trouble when you have to inhale in order to button your pants. After a Christmas period of letting myself go, this is pretty much my predicament now. The avalanche of food, the irregular eating patterns, the booze et al were more regular than usual during the just ended holiday season. In my defense, I had to stay energized for the slew of activities that took place in Accra and now my lower belly is paying for my choices.

I have never been a gym animal nor a body-building enthusiast quite simply because my schedule will not allow me to be (at least that’s what I tell myself). I will always do the odd set of push-ups and sit-ups every other morning to stay visibly solid, but now I find myself rummaging through ‘Ab’ workouts on YouTube and googling ‘how to lose lower belly fat’ after every struggle to button up. Tragic fall from comfort.

Like any man of the people will do, I will scout around for the most resourceful fitness centers across town and report back to you.

Shedding lower belly fat has got to be harder than cracking a securities licensing exam. More so as there is always a new eatery springing up on the corner every month and the likes of BUILT Burgers and that artisan pizza truck in Osu stay consistent. I like all my pants tailored and well-fitted so in my current fix where my pants hold my thighs and leave my legs, I bemoan the thought of having to revisit the tailor just to readjust them or worst-case scenario, shop for a whole new set of pants.

It is a mere triviality but still a proper stuck between a rock and a hard place situation. To stay with the YouTube workout phase and hope for results or to graduate to the gym, let the schedule suffer and pretty much get instant results? Time will tell.

However, I know I am not the only individual reeling from the somewhat bad eating habits developed during the Christmas season. Like any man of the people will do, I will scout around for the most resourceful fitness centers across town and report back to you. Who knows, I may sign up at one of them.

It’s Eyez.
